This space is to assist teachers, schools and clusters who want to make a difference to student learning in classrooms through the use of ICT. In this I use ICT in its widest context of processes as well as products - so not just the button technologies, but also the ways that we have developed to assist our thinking and processing - inquiry, thinking skills, personalising the learning etc.
It's aims are:
To assist with the process of vision and goal setting
To focus self review about what we really are achieving and where we need to work further
To provide tools that we can use to reflect on progress
To look at ways that we can gather evidence and hard data to focus our review
To focus our success indicators so that we know where we are now headed and what that will look like along the way
To create a place where people can contribute their stories about their journey to improve student achievement through effective use of ICT - their highs and lows in the process
To raise awareness that ICT PD in NZ schools (and elsewhere in the world) should be about raising student achievement for the 21st century, rather than using costly tools to keep on doing what we have always done for a world that no longer exists.
As with all wikis, this should be a place for collaboration and community building of ideas, rather than one person's view.
